Overview

The Local Historical Committees Network (LHCN) is the national network of local historical bodies, national professional historical organizations, local government culture units, local studies centers, higher education institutions, and non-governmental organizations engaged in local history and heritage work. Created by virtue of Section 21 of Republic Act No. 10086 or the Strengthening People’s Nationalism through Philippine History Act, it leads the NHCP’s initiatives in monitoring, coordinating, supporting, and affiliating local historical bodies engaged in the collection, documentation, popularization, conservation, restoration, and preservation of extant historical materials found in different parts of the country. It also assists in the recording and research of local histories of towns, cities, provinces, regions, and peoples.
