San Juan City – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), together with Centrex Corporation; J.S. Lim Construction; and the University of the Philippines- Archaeological Studies Program,  will conduct a series of lectures entitled, “Uncovering the History Underneath: The Making of Museo El Deposito”   at the Museo El Deposito, San Juan City on 27-28 February 2020, Thursday and Friday, 2:00 p.m.

To mark the first anniversary of Museo El Deposito, the museum will conduct a series of lectures acknowledging the people and organizations behind the creation of the museum, beginning from its planning, budgeting, research, archaeological excavation, construction and curatorial scheme.

The project-in-charge from the NHCP-Historic Preservation Division and Historic Sites & Education Division, Professor/Team Leader from the UP Archaeological Studies Program 2016, Architects and Engineers from J.S Lim Construction and Centrex Corporation will be share their knowledge and experiences on the rehabilitation and creation of the museum, highlighting Manila’s former water reservoir.

The lectures aim to share in-depth knowledge on the establishment of the Museo El Deposito and the site development of its cistern as a relevant structure built during the Spanish Era, highlighting its reopening on 26 March 2020.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage through its administration of national shrines, museums, research and publication, conservation, and marking of historic sites and structures.
