NHCP, Manila – in line with its mandate to conduct historical educational activities, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines will hold the training workshop, “Training on Historical Competencies” on 15-17 May 2017 at the 4th floor, NHCP Building, T.M. Kalaw St., Ermita, Manila.
Dr. Maria Serena I. Diokno of the University of the Philippines Diliman and former Chair of the NHCP will be the resource speaker and facilitator of the three-day activity. Members of the Pansangay ng mga Guro sa Araling Panlipunan of DepEd Manila will be the participants. The training aims to help teachers understand the nature and range of historical competencies and apply their principles inside the classroom.
On the third day, the NHCP will also launch its newest publication “Resettling the Huks in the Land of Promise: The Story of the Economic Development Corps in Mindanao, 1950-1970” by Dr. Faina C. Abaya-Ulindang of Mindanao State University-Marawi City and introduce the NHCP E-bookstore.
