Background and Aims
The National Historical Commission of the Philippines through the Materials Research Conservation Division offers this course on “Basic and Advanced Training on Conservation for University Instructors” starting 03 April – 30 June 2017. It is designed for college level instructors in the Philippines, who are interested to learn, educate and train in basic and advanced methods in the conservation of movable and immovable heritage objects.
The training program adheres to the commission’s mandate to promote Philippine history and cultural heritage through research, dissemination, conservation, sites management and heraldry works, by providing knowledge, tools and training to university instructors in Bohol, Cebu and Iloilo. This is in response to the need for a new pool of cultural heritage workers and the integration of Conservation Science under Industrial Technology course in Bohol Island State University (BISU) in Dimlao campus, Bohol.
In view of the NHCP’s mission to promote Philippine history and cultural heritage through research, dissemination, conservation, sites management and heraldry works, the training program aims to provide the knowledge, tools and training to educators and professionals who are passionate about heritage and its protection.
