Baler, Aurora – The National Organizing Committee and Technical Working Group for the Philippine–Spanish Friendship Day celebration will spearhead the commemoration of the 121st Anniversary of the Siege of Baler and 18th Philippine– Spanish Friendship Day on 30 June 2020, 8:00 a.m. at the San Luis Church Patio in Baler, Aurora.

Leading the simple wreath-laying ceremonies are Aurora Governor Gerardo A. Noveras and Baler Mayor Rhett Ronan T. Angara. They will be joined by APP0 Provincial Director P/COL Raul C. Siriban and 91st ID Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Reandrew P. Rubio.

Messages in line for the historic Siege of Baler and Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day will be delivered by Gov. Noveras and Mayor Angara. Baler Vice Mayor Pedro M. Ong, Jr. will give the closing remarks.

The Philippine-Spanish Friendship Day was established by Republic Act No. 9187 of July 22, 2002, as a means to strengthen the relationship between two nations that share history, values and traditions.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history through its museums, research and publication, and preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
