CABANATUAN CITY, NUEVA ECIJA ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its OIC-Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, will unveil the historical marker Nueva Ecija High School on 8 September 2022, 10:00 a.m. at the School Library, Nueva Ecija High School, Burgos Avenue, Sangitan West in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. The marker states:

                                    UNANG NAGBUKAS SA SAN ISIDRO, NUEVA ECIJA ANG PANLALAWIGANG SEKONDARYANG PAARALAN, 1902. PINANGASIWAAN NI ARKITEKTO TOMAS MAPUA ANG PAGPAPATAYO NG BAGONG PAARALAN SA CABANATUAN, NUEVA ECIJA, 1921. INILIPAT DITO NANG MAKUMPLETO ANG DALAWANG PALAPAG NA GUSALI SA MAGKABILANG DULO AYON SA PLANO NI ARKITEKTO ANTONIO TOLEDO, DEKADA 1930. NAKALIGTAS MULA SA PAMBOBOMBA NOONG IKALAWANG DIGMAANG PANDAIGDIG. NATATANGING HALIMBAWA NG PAARALANG GABALDON NA MAY ISTILONG NEO-KLASIKAL.

 

OIC-Executive Director Arevalo will officially turn over the marker to Department of Education (DEPED) – Division of Nueva Ecija Schools Division Superintendent Jessie D. Ferrer, CESO V. President of Nueva Ecija High School Alumni Association Dr. Westly Rosario, NHCP Commissioners Dr. Lino Dizon and Ms. Lisa Nakpil, and National Archives of the Philippines Executive Director Victorino Mapa Manalo will stand as witnesses during the signing of the certificate of transfer.

Nueva Ecija Governor Aurelio M. Umali and Cabanatuan City Mayor Myca Elizabeth R. Vergara will deliver their messages.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
