BUSTOS, BULACAN ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its OIC-Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, will unveil the historical marker Alejo Santos (1911-1984) on 17 July 2022, 8:00 a.m. at BMA Memorial Park, Bustos, Bulacan. The marker states:

LUMABAN SA MGA HAPON SA BATAAN AT NAKARANAS NG DEATH MARCH. ITINATAG AT PINAMUNUAN ANG GRUPO NG MGA BULAKENYONG GERILYANG PHILIPPINE LEGION, HUNYO 1942. KUMANDER, BULACAN MILITARY DISTRICT NG EAST CENTRAL LUZON GUERILLA AREA, 14 SETYEMBRE 1943, NA NAGING BULACAN MILITARY AREA NG USAFFE LUZON GUERILLA ARMY FORCES, 12 OKTUBRE 1943. TUMULONG SA USAPING PANGKAPAYAPAAN SA PAGITAN NG PAMAHALAAN AT NG HUKBONG MAPAGPALAYA SA BAYAN. GOBERNADOR NG BULACAN, 1945, 1951-1957. KINATAWAN NG IKALAWANG DISTRITO NG BULACAN, 1946, 1949-1951. KALIHIM NG TANGGULANG PAMBANSA, 1959-1961. TUMAKBO SA PAGKAPANGULO, 1981. PUMANAW, 18 PEBRERO 1984.
OIC-Executive Director Arevalo will officially turn over the marker to Bustos Mayor Francis Albert G. Juan. Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando, and the Descendant of Alejo Santos, Ms. Liberty Dumlao will stand as witnesses during the signing of the certificate of transfer.
Mayor Juan will deliver his acceptance message after the signing of the certificate of transfer.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan will also unveil and turn over the bust of Alejo Santos to the Local Government of Bustos.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
