The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) launched yesterday, 28 July 2022, the official logo for the celebration of History Month at the NHCP Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo, Kawit, Cavite.
NHCP Chairman Dr. Rene R. Escalante unveiled the logo with Councilor Armie Cynthia Aguinaldo representing Kawit Mayor Angelo Emilio G. Aguinaldo. Joining them are officials from the City of Imus, Municipality of Kawit, and the NHCP.
The logo is inspired by the central feature of the NHCP logo which is composed of the baybayin letters for “Ka” and “Pa.” The “Pa” is formed by a book and quill pen to highlight the value of writing history. Below are the words “Our History Continues,” the tagline for the annual History Month celebration.
Held every August pursuant to Proclamation No. 339 signed on 16 February 2012, History Month highlights the rich history of the country. It coincides with many historic commemorations which include National Heroes Day, the anniversary of the Cry of Pugadlawin and the Battle of San Juan del Monte, and the birth and death anniversaries of heroes and presidents.
Among the activities prepared for the History Month celebration this year are the General Assembly of the Local Historical Committees Network, commemorative programs, unveiling of historical markers, training workshops, webinars, and physical and online exhibits. The NHCP also encourages national and local government agencies, schools and universities and other institutions to organize their own activities.
