The exhibit focuses on the significant roles and influence of women in President Diosdado Macapagal’s life. His grandmother, Escolastica Romero, a midwife and pious woman and his mother, Romana Pangan, a housewife and share-tenant’s daughter, as their teachings formed a lasting impression on President Macapagal. It also includes his first wife, Purita dela Rosa, his childhood sweetheart who passed away in 1943, and second wife, Evangelina Macaraeg, a physician who shared values with him like simple living, incorruptibility, and selfless service to the country.

President Diosdado Macapagal’s principles in preserving democracy, honesty, and integrity were greatly influenced by these significant women.
