MANILA YACHT CLUB, ROXAS BOULEVARD, MANILA ─ The National

Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its Chairman Emmanuel Franco Calairo, will unveil the historical marker, “Ang Pagdating ng Pan Am China Clipper” on 20 January 2024, 10:30 a.m. The marker states:

ANG CHINA CLIPPER, EROPLANONG PANDAGAT NG PAN AMERICAN AIRWAYS, AY LUMIPAD MULA SAN FRANCISCO, ESTADOS UNIDOS, PATUNGONG MAYNILA, 22 NOBYEMBRE 1935. NAGSILBING PILOTO SINA EDWIN MUSICK AT FRED NOONAN. TINAWID NITO ANG HIMPAPAWID NG PASIPIKO AT DUMAAN SA HONOLULU, HAWAII, SA MGA ISLA NG MIDWAY, WAKE, AT GUAM. NAKARATING SA LOOK NG MAYNILA, 29 NOBYEMBRE 1935. ANG PAGLIPAD NITO SA IBABAW NG KARAGATANG PASIPIKO AY NAGING DAAN UPANG SIMULAN ANG PAGGAMIT NG EROPLANO BILANG SASAKYANG KOMERSYAL NA NAG-UUGNAY SA PILIPINAS AT ESTADOS UNIDOS, OKTUBRE, 1936. NAKATULONG ITO SA PAGPAPABILIS NG DALOY NG PAMAMAHALA, TRANSPORTASYON, AT KOMUNIKASYON SA PAGITAN NG PILIPINAS AT ESTADOS UNIDOS.

 

NHCP Chairman Calairo will present the historical marker. Commo. Ildefonso

Marco T. Tronqued of the Manila Yacht Club will deliver his acceptance message after signing the certificate of transfer.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
