TARLAC STATE UNIVERSITY ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo with Tarlac State University President Dr. Arnold E. Velasco, will unveil the historical marker, “Tarlac: Landas ng Pagkabansang Pilipino, 1899” on 21 June 2024, 9:00 a.m. The marker states:

 

TARLAC LANDAS NG PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 1899

                             SAKSI ANG POOK NA ITO SA PAGKABANSA NG PILIPINAS, ANG KAUNA-UNAHANG REPUBLIKA SA BUONG ASYA. ANG PANANDANG PANGKASAYAYANG ITO AY PINASINAYAAN SA PAGGUNITA SA IKA-125 ANIBERSARYO NG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 12 HUNYO 2023-23 MARSO 2026.

 

NHCP Executive Director Arevalo will present the historical marker. TSU President Velasco will deliver his acceptance message after signing the certificate of transfer.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
