TUGUEGARAO CITY ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its OIC-Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, will unveil the historical marker, “Jose Rizal (1861-1896)” in line with the 162nd birth anniversary of Jose Rizal on 19 June 2023, 6:30 a.m. at the Rizal Park Monument, Old Tuguegarao Plaza. The marker states:

                                                MAY-AKDA NG MGA SULATING TUMATALAKAY SA MGA SAKIT NG LIPUNANG KOLONYAL NG PILIPINAS NANG PANAHONG IYON. NAGSULONG NG MGA REPORMA NGUNIT KINASUHAN NG REBELYON, SEDISYON, AT PAGTATAG NG ILEGAL NA SAMAHAN.

OIC-Exec. Dir. Arevalo will officially turn over the marker to Cagayan Governor Manuel N. Mamba. Mr. Nino Kevin D. Baclig, Museum Curator of the Cagayan Museum and Historical Research Center will stand as witness during the signing of the certificate of transfer.

Governor Mamba will deliver his acceptance message after signing the certificate of transfer.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
