Lubao, Pampanga – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines – Museo ni Jose B. Lingad (NHCP-MJBL) in cooperation with MAKIRAMDAM group will conduct an on-site storytelling titled “Ibong Malaya: An EDSA Storytelling Event” on 24 February 2023 at 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

This initiative seeks to preserve the invaluable lessons of the EDSA People Power Revolution, ensuring its resonance with future generations. Through an exploration of authentic historical accounts, the event aims to commemorate the brave martyrs and heroines who made ultimate sacrifices to dismantle years of oppressive governance and usher in a new era of democracy in our nation. The storytelling session will also be broadcasted live on the museum’s Facebook Page, providing broader access to this significant historical event.

The EDSA People Power Revolution, which transpired from 22-26 February 1986, witnessed the united efforts of diverse civilian, religious, military, and student groups converging along Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA). Together, they voiced their condemnation against corruption, violence, and electoral fraud within the government.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage through its administration of national shrines, museums, research and publication, heraldry, conservation, and marking of historic sites and structures.
