MALOLOS, BULACAN ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led by its OIC-Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo, will unveil the historical marker, “Malolos: Landas ng Pagkabansang Pilipino 1898” on 10 September 2023, 3:00 p.m. The marker states:

LANDAS NG PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 1898-1899
SAKSI ANG POOK NA ITO SA PAGKABANSA NG PILIPINAS, ANG KAUNA-UNAHANG REPUBLIKA SA BUONG ASYA. ANG PANANDANG PANGKASAYSAYANG ITO AY PINASINAYAAN SA PAGGUNITA SA IKA-125 ANIBERSARYO NG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 12 HUNYO 2023 – 23 MARSO 2026.
Bishop Dennis C. Villarojo, D.D. of the Diocese of Malolos will deliver his acceptance message after the signing of the certificate of transfer.
Invited guests to the unveiling are Bulacan 1st District Representative Danilo A. Domingo, Malolos Governor Daniel R. Fernando, Vice Governor Alex Castro, and Vice Mayor Miguel Alberto T. Bautista.
This commemoration is part of the marking of around 100 sites along the path of Philippine Independence and nationhood from Cavite to Isabela, creating a memorial to be called “Landas ng Pagkabansang Pilipino” (Philippine Nationhood Trail).
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
