CANDON, ILOCOS SUR ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) with the City Government of Candon, will unveil the historical marker, “Candon” on 22 November, 9:00 a.m. The marker states:

SA LUNGSOD NA ITO NG CANDON, ILOCOS SUR, LUMAGI SI EMILIO AGUINALDO, PANGULO NG UNANG REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS, AT ANG KANIYANG HUKBO HABANG IPINAGTATANGGOL ANG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSA NG MGA PILIPINO, 21-22 NOBYEMBRE 1899.
ANG PANANDANG PANGKASAYSAYANG ITO AY PINASINAYAAN BILANG AMBAG SA PAGGUNITA SA IKA-125 ANIBERSARYO NG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 12 HUNYO 2023 – 23 MARSO 2026.
NHCP Executive Director Arevalo will present the marker while Candon City Mayor Eric D. Singson will give his acceptance message.
This unveiling activity is one of the series of marker unveilings in Pangasinan that NHCP will spearhead in line with the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
