SISON, PANGASINAN ─ The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) with the Municipal Government of Sison, will unveil the historical marker, “Alava” on 30 January, 3:30 p.m. The marker states:

LANDAS NG PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 1899
SA BAYANG ITO, NGAYO’Y SISON, PANGASINAN, DUMAAN SI EMILIO AGUINALDO, PANGULO NG UNANG REPUBLIKA NG PILIPINAS, AT ANG KANIYANG HUKBO HABANG IPINAGTATANGGOL ANG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSA NG MGA PILIPINO, 15 NOBYEMBRE 1899.
ANG PANANDANG PAGKASAYSAYANG ITO AY PINASINAYAAN BILANG AMBAG SA PAGGUNITA SA IKA-125 ANIBERSARYO NG KALAYAAN AT PAGKABANSANG PILIPINO, 12 HUNYO 2023 – 23 MARSO 2026.
NHCP Chair Regalado Trota Jose Jr. will present the marker. Sison Mayor Danilo C. Uy will give his acceptance message.
This unveiling activity is one of the series of marker unveilings in Pangasinan that NHCP will spearhead in line with the 125th anniversary of Philippine Independence and Nationhood.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
