CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, PAMPANGA– The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) in partnership with the City Government of San Fernando, as part of its commitment to help and capacitate its local partners in conducting history and heritage work, will hold its first LGU Training on History and Heritage for 2024 in Region III at the City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
This training activity will equip LGU workers with essential skills and knowledge to conduct basic historical research, commemorations, conservation, and documentation. The program will be a three-day workshop from 4-6 March 2024 at the Heroes’ Hall, Lazatin Boulevard, San Fernando, Pampanga. This training is free for all participants.
Mayor Vilma B. Caluag of the City of San Fernando will deliver the welcome remarks followed by a message from NHCP Executive Director Carminda R. Arevalo. This program is part of the NHCP’s mandate in bringing history and heritage closer to the people across the country. The commission will also be holding a short press briefer to share upcoming programs and projects in Central Luzon and the rest of the country.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
