CALAMBA, LAGUNA – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the City of Calamba will lead the 162nd birth anniversary of Jose Rizal on 19 June 2023, 8:00 a.m., at the Museo ni Jose Rizal, Calamba, Laguna.
Senator Francis N. Tolentino will lead the wreath-laying rites. Other wreath-offerors are NHCP Chairman Emmanuel Franco Calairo, Lone District of Calamba Representative Charisse Anne H. Alcantara, Laguna Governor Ramil L. Hernandez, Calamba City Mayor Roseller H. Rizal, Calamba City Vice Mayor Angelito S. Lazaro, Jr., Liga ng mga Barangay Head Mr. Eduardo Silva, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation President Mr. Kenneth P. Delas llagas, and Mr. Johnny R. Pamuspusan, members of the Kababaihang Rizalista, and descendants of Jose Rizal.
A short program will follow the rites with the prayer to be officiated by St. John the Baptist Parish Priest Rev. Msgr. Mario Rafael M. Castillo. City Mayor Rizal will deliver his welcome remarks while Councilor Maria Kathrina V. Silva will introduce the guest of honor. Sen. Tolentino, the event guest of honor, will give his message.
NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage through its museums, publications, markings of historic sites and structures and conduct of commemorative programs.
