San Juan City – In line with the celebration of World Water Day 2022 and National Women’s Month, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) in partnership with Manila Water Company, Inc., Manila Water Foundation and the San Juan City Health Department will conduct a lecture and outreach program titled KILAPSAW YEAR 4: Wash and Learn Kabataan at Kababaihan! The activity will be held on 22 March 2022, 9:00 a.m. at the Museo El Deposito, San Juan City.
Kilapsaw, now on its fourth year, has continuously provided water education and inspired its participants to become champions of water sanitation and protectors of water resources. This activity aims to educate the public on wastewater treatment; encourage proper hygiene and sanitation through hand washing; introduce awareness programs and advocacies of Manila Water Company and Manila Water Foundation.
Participants for this activity are female beneficiaries of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program- San Juan City Chapter and officers of Sangguniang Kabataan. First part of the program will be registration and assembly of participants to be followed by a museum tour. Program proper will begin with the welcome remarks by Dr. Mitzi Tanchoco, Head of San Juan City Health Department. Lecture proper on Water Trail will be delivered by Mr. Joseph A. Ronquillo of the Advocacy and Research Department, Manila Water Company, Inc. while the handwashing and hygiene lecture will be presented by Mr. Nathaniel George Hipolito and his team from the Manila Water Foundation.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history through its museums, research and publication, and preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
