Manila – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) – Museo Apolinario Mabini-PUP will conduct a webinar titled Kakayahan at Inspirasyon: Webinar on Magna Carta for PWDs on 15 July 2022 at 10:00 A.M. via FB Page live.  Resource speaker for this online lecture will be Atty. Realeth Krizelle Ramos, J.D. newly appointed Chief of the Programs Management Division of National Council for Disability Affairs (NCDA).

The webinar will discuss about Republic Act 7277: Magna Carta for Disabled Persons. An act providing for the rehabilitation, self-development and self-reliance of disabled persons and their integration into the mainstream of society and for other purposes.  This would outline the rights and privileges of disabled persons, the coverage of the said law, the role of the family, community, government and non-government agencies to provide a more meaningful and productive life. 

This bill which is a consolidation of Senate Bill No, 1286 and House Bill 35091, was finally passed by the Senate and the House of Representatives on 22 January 1992 and 16 January 1992, respectively.  It was approved on 24 March 1992.

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history and heritage through its administration of national shrines, museums, research and publication, conservation, and marking of historic sites and structures.
