Kawit, Cavite – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), in coordination with the Provincial Government of Cavite and the Municipal Government of Kawit will lead the commemoration of the 150th birth anniversary of Baldomero Aguinaldo on 27 February 2019, 8:00 a.m., at the Baldomero Aguinaldo Shrine, Kawit, Cavite.

Flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies will be led by Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana who will also deliver a message.  He will be joined by 1st District Representative Francis Gerald A. Abaya, NHCP Chairman Rene R. Escalante, Cavite Governor Jesus Crispin Remulla, Kawit Municipal Mayor Angelo Emilio G. Aguinaldo, Philippine National Police-Kawit PCI Ronald Corpuz, and former Prime Minister Cesar E.A. Virata, grandson of Baldomero Aguinaldo.  Representatives from Department of Education-Kawit, Veterans Federation of the Philippines, Samahan ng mga Kapitan ng Barangay ng Kawit and other descendants of Gen. Baldomero Aguinaldo will also join in the celebration.

Mayor Aguinaldo will deliver the welcome remarks while Governor Remulla will give the inspirational message. 

The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history through its museums and publications, and preserve the nation’s historical heritage.
