The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) led the commemoration of the 157th birth anniversary of Galicano Apacible on 25 June 2021, 8:00 a.m., at the Museo nina Leon at Galicano Apacible, Taal, Batangas.

Flag raising and solemn wreath-laying activity were spearheaded by the curators and staff of the Museo nina Leon at Galicano Apacible (MLGA), and Museo nina Marcela Marino and Felipe Agoncillo (MMMFA).  

The simple event had minimal attendees, adhering to the prescribed health standards/guidelines of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).

Galicano Apacible was born on 25 June 1864 to Vicente Noble and Catalina Castillo. He co-founded the La Solidaridad and became its first president on 13 December 1888. Galicano also became the chairman of the Comite Central Filipino in Hongkong during the revolution and the war against the United States.

NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine History through its museums and publications and preserve the nation’s historical heritage.
