alunaBADOC, ILOCOS NORTE – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) will unveil the Antonio Luna monument and historical marker at the Museo nina Juan at Antonio Luna on 29 October 2016, at 10:00 a.m. Philippine Veterans Affairs Office Administrator Ernesto G. Carolina and NHCP-Chief of the Research, Publications and Heraldry Division Mr. Alvin Alcid will lead the unveiling ceremonies. Ilocos Norte Governor Imee R. Marcos and Badoc Municipal Mayor Maximo D. Cajigal will also join the unveiling rites.

The cast bronze life-size statue of Gen. Antonio Luna was designed by well-known sculptor Juan Sajid D.L. Imao. The historical marker “Antonio Luna 1866-1899” to be installed will serve as a national recognition of the historical importance of Gen. Luna for the public to see and emulate. The marker states:
