MANILA ─ In celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Gregoria de Jesus and History Month, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) with the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) bring together kakaIBAbaihan Oriang@150 Women Talks on 11 August 2025, 1:30 p.m. at The Metropolitan Theater Manila.
Join our guests for an exciting discussion on the Lakambini’s life, work and values and how her spirit of service to the people influenced their lives: -Dr. Ma. Luisa Camagay, prolific historian and educator, – Dr. Dolores Ramirez, National Scientist, – Dr. Cristina Lim-Yuson, Girl Scouts of the Philippines President and Chairperson of Museo Pambata, and – Ms. Mona Magno-Veluz aka Mighty Magulang, genealogist and advocate for autism welfare and history.
Oriang known as the “Lakambini ng Katipunan,” was more than a wife, and mother as she stood up against the Spanish regime by assisting the Katipunan through various courageous acts. Her dedication to the cause of the revolution earned her a place in the pantheon of our nation’s heroes.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
