The Municipality of Anini-y was created in the Province of Antique out of Barrios San Francisco, Iba, Nasuli-A, Nasuli-C, Casay, Igpalge, Igtomarom, Magdalena, Mabuyong, San Roque, Nato, Butuan, Tagaytay, Anini-y, Talisayan, Sagua, Lisub A, Lisub B, Bayo Pequeño, and Bayo Grande, all in the Municipality of Dao (now Tobias Fornier), through Executive Order No. 253 signed by Pres. Elpidio Quirino on 5 August 1949.
