The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), in partnership with the Department of Tourism-Region 8, and the Province of Leyte, will hold its first LGU Training on History and Heritage on 25-27 July 2023 at the Leyte Academic Center Convention Compound, Palo, Leyte.

This specialized training program for local government units aims to capacitate the NHCP’s local partners in the various types of cultural work that the Commission is mandated to oversee and implement. Lectures and demonstrations on topics such as the Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, Naming and Renaming of Streets and Public Spaces, Creation of Local Museums, Conduct of Commemorative Programs, and Documentation and Marking of Historic Sites and Structures will be provided by resource persons from the NHCP’s divisions.

Registrations will be accepted until 20 July 2023. Walk-ins may be accommodated pending actual conditions on the training dates.
