The NHCP Museo ni Jose Rizal Fort Santiago marks the 162nd birth anniversary of Jose Rizal through an art exhibit entitled “Maka-Rizal” on 19 June 2023 at 10:00 am.
The exhibit features pieces which reimagine Rizal’s life and works which were donated last year to the museum by Jaymee Liz, Marie Sol Domingo, Marvel Obemio, Anne Labesores, Marvin Arenaza, Jay Vincent R. Gatdula, Jirah May A. Millano, Sheena Marie B. Ponseca, and Cheyzer Manalo.
These artworks show that Rizal is still relevant to younger generations and that young people can still relate to the challenges he faced and the passion with which he expressed his thoughts and ideals.
The exhibit will run until 19 September 2023.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine history through its museums, research, and publications, and to preserve historical heritage through conservation and the marking of historic sites and structures.
