QUEZON CITY – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), in coordination with the Spirit of EDSA Foundation (SOEF), City Government of Quezon, and other national and local government agencies will lead the commemoration of the 37th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution on 25 February 2023, 8:00 a.m., at the EDSA People Power Monument, EDSA cor. White Plains, Quezon City. This year’s theme is “EDSA 2023: Pagkakaisa Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Pagbangon.”
Quezon City Mayor Ma. Josefina Belmonte will spearhead the flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies. She will be joined by NHCP Chairman Rene R. Escalante and SOEF Commissioner Christopher Carrion. Representatives from other national and local government agencies, military, civic, and religious sectors will also join the celebration.
A holy mass will be offered on the same day, 10:00 a.m. at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace, EDSA Shrine, Ugong Norte, Quezon City (Archdiocese of Manila).
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine historical heritage through research and publication, heraldry, conservation, marking of historic sites and structures, and administration of national shrines and museums.
