Angeles, Pampanga – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines – Museum of Philippine Social History (NHCP-MPSH) in cooperation with Paper Soul Poetry Organization, will conduct a whole-day on-site lecture workshop titled “Kawatasan, Kasalesayan, Kapalsintan: Writing and Experiencing New Forms of Poetry” on 25 February 2023.

The lecture workshop will discuss “Introduction to Spoken Word Poetry” by Gerone Jan Baladhay; “Writing for Spoken Word Poetry” by Arlin Salonga; and “Poetry and Performance” by Raemie Tulabut.

Spoken word poetry is a unique literary and performative form used in narrating human experiences and social issues through poetry and other creative ways.  The workshop will talk about how and why spoken word poetry started, its impact, relevance, changes through time and how it can be used today as a means of self-expression.
