Badoc – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the City Government of Manila will lead the commemoration of Juan Luna’s 163rd birth anniversary on 24 October 2020.

Mayor Maximo Cajigal, Vice Mayor Alwyn Rubio, Sangguniang Bayan members, Department of Education – Badoc, and NHCP Curator Angel Raguindin will lead the simple commemorative rites program at 7:30 a.m.

Juan Luna was a renowned Filipino painter whose famous works such as the Spoliarium, the Blood Compact, and the Death of Cleopatra, won awards in various expositions abroad. In 1898, he became a diplomat of the Philippines.

NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote Philippine History through its museums and publications, and preserve the nation’s historical heritage.
