Kawit, Cavite – The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and Local Government of Kawit will lead the simple wreath-laying ceremony in commemoration of the 152nd birth anniversary of Emilio Aguinaldo on 22 March 2021, 8:00 a.m. at the Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo (MEA).
Resolution 104, dated 20 March 2021 of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease prohibits mass gatherings, hence the wreath laying will be officiated by few officials of Museo ni Emilio Aguinaldo and tourism officers of Kawit. Wreaths from the Office of the President, office of Senator Ramon Revilla, and Department of Education will be prepositioned in General Aguinaldo’s tomb. Emilio Aguinaldo was born on 22 March 1869 in Cavite to Carlos Jamir Aguinaldo and Trinidad Famy Aguinaldo. He joined Katipunan in 1895 and led the revolution against Spanish and American colonial rule. Became the president of the First Philippine Republic in 1899 to 1901.
The NHCP is the national government agency mandated to promote and preserve Philippine history through its museums and publications, and preserve the nation’s historical heritage.
