CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines invites historians, heritage scholars and workers, conservation scientists, museologists, and cultural managers to submit original, unpublished papers on local history and heritage for the Journal of Philippine Local History & Heritage.

The journal is a peer-reviewed publication that appears twice a year (February and August). We invite submissions that will contribute to new knowledge in local history and heritage. Papers on little-known or unused local archival materials are of immense interest, as are original, new studies of local history, traditions, and museums. The journal likewise welcomes papers on heritage conservation, especially those that contribute to the improvement of past or current practices and offer new ideas and approaches to the preservation of heritage.

The journal addresses the general public, whose interest in history and heritage has grown, and whose engagement is necessary to deepen our understanding of the past and to preserve our heritage.

Submissions to the Journal of Philippine Local History & Heritage must include the writer’s brief curriculum vitae, an abstract of 300 words, and paper with the following specifications:

  • Length:  5,000 to 8,000 words, including citations and references
  • Font:   Times New Roman 12
  • Style:  The Chicago Manual of Style, 16th ed.

Please send materials and address queries by electronic mail to:
